Sawyer got the most darling little bike for Christmas from Grandma and Grandpa Salazar. Well up until now the weather has been so crappy that we really haven't had the chance to get out and try the coolest bike around on for size. In the meantime we (my mother and I) decided that we better get him used to the helmet. So he has been asking to ride his bike for few days and every time he asks I reply with, "That sounds like so much fun, lets get your helmet on so that you can ride safely. You always have to wear your helmet when you ride your bike." The answer up until yesterday was always a resounding, "NO!"

I guess he had a change of heart. Yesterday he decided that not only was he going to wear it on his bike, he was going to wear it playing basketball, riding in his car, and running around and jumping in general. He kept telling me, "I don't fall down and get hurt now, I am all safe!" Maybe I am stressing the safe thing a little to much? Either way, he was safe and happy, all be it a very sweaty little boy! (No short bus comments about my little guy either!!)

Disclaimer: Yes, I do know that my yard is trashed. For those of you who have been to my house recently (the last 10 years), you know that I have great intentions and crappy follow through. So lets not discuss all the crap stacked around my yard/house/driveway.

Just a side note. I think anyone who drives those teeny, tiny little smart cars should have to wear a helmet too! Oh, by the way I have a ton of pictures that will be coming soon. Once again, slacking on the follow through!

We were very lucky to be able to see Megan recently, unfortunately she was in town for her Grandmother's funeral. Megan is one of the most wonderful gifts from god, I could not ask for more of a friend in this lifetime. I love this girl more than I could ever express with words or actions. She has been my rock, my friend, my confidant, and my emotional life boat for many years and many occasions. So I just had to mention how much she and her family have meant to me over the years. I love you guys so much!

Just a few pictures of what we have been up to lately. We have been trying to take Sawyer swimming to get him out of the house on the cold winter days that seem to be dragging on and on. He seems to really enjoy it and it is nice to do something different than just building blocks, doing puzzles, and playing with trains. I can't wait for the nice weather to be here for good so we can get out and play with his new basketball hoop and get him riding his new bike. Come on Old Man Winter, let us go already!!!!

So this is obviously late since Lil D's birthday is at the end of March, but better late than never. We were so happy that Dom and Kelly could be with us for his Birthday. I can't believe that he is nineteen and all grown up. I remember him as a little baby and it is amazing how the time has flown. I call him my baby duck, Brandon calls him baby bro, and mom calls him her baby. I guess now that he is taller than all of us this might present a problem or be a little annoying to him. Well to bad Dom, you will aways be my baby! So happy late birthday to you!!!

We were lucky enough to be able to see Sophie for her birthday at the beginning of this month and let me tell you she is such a little lady! So cute and sweet. She has such dainty little mannerisms, you can definitely see the difference between boys and girls. She is so happy and has such a beautiful smile! She is so delicate when she opens her gifts. It is so cute to watch her open her cards and take the time to read them over before putting them back in the envelope. She and Sawyer had a grand time running around and chasing each other. I think they could be best buddies if given the opportunity. It was really nice to have everyone there to celebrate. God I love that girl!

O.k., I know that I am totally biased by this kid is so smart he just makes me laugh all the time. Last night we were on the way home from picking up Dominic and Sawyer was just being his normal little chatty self. We were asking him about his day and he was asking us about all the things that we passed on our drive. At one point I suggested that we count for daddy so that he could see how smart Sawyer was getting. So we start off, one, two, three and so on. At ten I stop counting with him because I figured we were done. Ten was as high as we had practiced counting in the past. Well I am sure you all know where this is going but that little stink just kept on counting. He made it to twenty and at that point we were just all laughing because we were so surprised and he sound so dang cute.

Another cute thing that he is starting to do is read along with me. One of his favorite books to do this with is, Go Dog Go. His little voice is so sweet especially when he reads along in the little sing song rhythm we use. He acts like such a big boy when he is turning the pages and when he is done he hops right up and puts the book right back on the shelf. He also loves his book, Visiting the Firehouse. He loves to tell me all the parts of the fire engine, all about the firefighters uniform and of course, wait for it..... STOP, DROP, and ROLL.

Sawyer is such a tenderhearted little boy, he is all about defending you if he feels someone is being mean or yelling. He will throw up his little hand and say, "Stop, bad, bad ____! You no be mean to____!" He is always really concerned if you are hurt. He will offer kisses and hugs and ask you if you are alright or better. He always asks, "You need doctor to fix it??" This is probably an indicator that we spend way to much time with the doctor. My poor little guy is always fighting one bug or another (oh, the pitfalls of daycare). Sickness aside we are so lucky to have a great lady who watches Sawyer for us. Her name is Eliza and she is so kind and loving. Sawyer is always happy to see her and snuggle with her and get his hugs and kisses. He has many wonderful friends there and I always feel good knowing that he is somewhere being loved, having fun, and learning new things. We are very lucky!

Our New Year

Our New Year had stated out with an undecided mind when it comes to weather. We alternate between freezing cold and snowing like no other and gorgeous days in the 50's. Sawyer loves it outside so it's nice to have some warm days occasionally. I really can't wait for spring!

This is a cute but shot of Sawyer and Uncle Dommy in their skinny jeans. Sawyer got his for Christmas from his uncle so of course when Lil D was down helping me out by babysitting they had to be twins. Too Cute!

With the snow comes shoveling. Grandma bought Sawyer his own little shovel. Everyday when he gets home from daycare, if there is snow on the grass he has to get out his shovel and help clean it up. To bad it's so freaking cold!

Another thing he loves is snowballs. Watch out when this little guy is around he has a great arm and a deadly aim!

When the weather is warm we usually grab our best gal pal, Grandma and head to the park or the zoo.

They have nice little play ground at the zoo too. So packed this time of year it looks like your standing in line at a theme park just waiting to get on the slides.

Last night driving home from daycare I had my sun glasses on and Sawyer kept asking where his glasses were. "Where my glasses???" So I told him they were at home and we would get them when we got there. Well of course he didn't need them until about 7:30 last night when it was already dark. This was the result.

I just have to get this down, I got my first, "I love you" out of Sawyer last night. Totally made me cry.

If any of you have been around Sawyer in the last two to three months you know what a little jabber mouth he has turned into. He isn't just talking, we are now having full on conversations. I love this boy more than I can say. Every time I look at him I realize how blessed I am to have him in my life. I find myself thinking, "My life would be nothing without him!" He is the best thing that has ever happened to me! I love this boy with every breath I take, every beat of my heart, down to the very core of my soul!

These were taken back in September and I was really hoping to get out some good Christmas cards, but that obviously didn't happen. I then thought I would steal a great idea from my girl Megan and send out Valentine's cards. Well I hate to tell ya people that one isn't going to happen either. So I hope you enjoy these. Bare in mind after three hours of pictures in temps ranging in the high 90's we were starting to look a little beat.

I want to thank Brandon for taking these. They were done at Wheeler Farm if any of you were interested. It is always really nice to have a photographer in the family that is willing to hook his sister up. Love ya Brandon!

Christmas 2010

We had a wonderful, busy, tiring, and fun filled Christmas season this year. This is Sawyer's second Christmas and I think he is starting to get the whole present and Santa thing. He is hilarious when he spots a wrapped package. He will look at me with his big brown eyes and ask, "Present, toys for me?" So very sweet!

They always throw a fun holiday party and it is the one time a year that we all get around to seeing all the long lost cousins and other family. Unfortunately I was too busy keeping up with Sawyer to get any pictures but we had a blast. Sawyer wasn't much for Santa but he sure liked the present he received!

Our next party was Christmas at my dad and Connie's house in Nephi. They try and make it easy on the parent's so they have Christmas at their house the week prior too the holiday. It's really nice to get together and see all the kids open their gifts. Connie always make a nice dinner and we all get a chance to sit back and relax. All the grand kids were very spoiled by grandma and grandpa this year!

We were lucky to have uncle Dom Dom or My Domey as Sawyer calls him come home a few days before Christmas. These two are best buds.

We have really been missing Dominic while he has been working in Montana and when he gets home Sawyer can't get enough of him!

Christmas Eve we were invited to an open house at Uncle Mario's and Aunt Amie's house. We had a surprise visitor that evening. Sawyer was still not too sure about the big guy in red.

It seemed like not to many kids were willing to sit on this guys lap.

I can't say that I blame them either. "Come sit on my lap and tell me what you want and I will give you some candy." Where have I heard that one before?

After the visit from Santa we were off to Brandon and Sierra's house for dinner. They put together a delicious meal of ham and baked potatoes and wonderful assortment of salads. Unfortunately by this point I was exhausted and didn't get anymore pictures. I am sorry guys! Thanks for the great dinner.

I also didn't get a picture of Sawyer or anyone else in their Christmas jammies. I am slacking hard core this year! On to Christmas morning.....

Sawyer was so thrilled Christmas morning when he walked into the living room to see all the wonderful gifts from Santa. Mom and lil D came over later to watch Sawyer open his gifts and have Christmas brunch with us.

We then had a nap and headed over to Grandma and Grandpa Salazar's house. Josh's children, Sophie, Sienna, and Jesse were in town for a few days and all the kids got to open their gifts together.

I love this little girl more than I can say. She is the sweetest thing ever. She is so gentle and kind. Her hair is really starting to fill in. I will have to steal some more pic's from Brandon. He got some darling pic's from two weeks ago with both Sawyer and Sophie together.

O.K., so the movie portion of the previous post doesn't seem to be working. I will have to take a look at them and try and get them running.

Just catching up

Our fall/winter season has been a busy one this year. We have been enjoying the nice weather up until about a month ago, it has definitely cooled down and last week we totally got dumped on. Sawyer loves to play out doors and loved to spend the evenings out back playing basketball/soccer/baseball. Since it has turned cold we have been spending a lot more time indoors. Sad for both of us. We have both been fighting colds on and off for several weeks which is no fun at all! It's been pretty rough going for us both with Dominic in Montana. Sawyer loves to talk on the phone to daddy and tell him all about his days. We are lucky that he gets to come home every couple of weeks, but we still miss him a whole bunch!

I recently had to have some surgery and now more than ever, I am so glad to have my mom close by. She has been so kind to essentially give up her life for the last four weeks to live with me and help with Sawyer. Since I am unable to lift him right now it has been a God send to have her there. You Don't realize how much lifting you do until you can't.

So if you are reading this mom.....THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!

This is Sawyer not enjoying his Halloween costume. He didn't really have a problem with it, just wasn't having a great moment in the evening. He did like the candy and enjoyed opening the door and seeing all the other kids. he also liked visiting his friend Brooklyn who lives down the street from Grandma's house.

This picture was taken last weekend after we got the tree up. Sawyer loves the two sleds that I have sitting next to the tree. He loves to ride in them, shoot hoops into them, and put all his stuffed animals and blankies in them. I know he is not looking at the camera, but this kid moves so quick, and yes he is wearing a jacket and sock up to his knees with his p.j.'s. He picked the outfit.

These two are with Grandma and uncle Domey, or Dom Dom. Sawyer loves his uncle Dom and loves to call him on the phone. He has a little finger skate that he loves to play with just like his cool uncle.

The rest of these were at the mall the other night. Sawyer love buses and brig trucks. he was in heaven. Sorry they are so gritty and grainy. Once again taken on a cell phone.

Note to self....Stop talking when you are recording Sawyer, you just sound like and idiot. I really don't know what is wrong with me or my voice.

Sorry, we didn't get as many good pictures as I thought. But we did get a lot of fun video, I will have to work on getting those up to. We had a really great summer and the weather has been so nice. Sawyer just loves being outside and running around. Basketball, baseball, and soccer are his favorite things to do...Anything with a ball as you can guess.

Hopefully the nice weather will last and we can get a few more weekends and evenings of playing outside before the weather changes.

Mom -

This post is a little late but as you know I have been doing the single mom thing for a month or two now and man am I exhausted. I need to tell you how much I love and appreciate you for all the help you have given me over the years! You are always so loving and thoughtful. You always put your kids, and now your grand kids before yourself. Over the years you have been such an inspiration to me. You always made sure our best interests were the priority.

As a single mom you worked two jobs, went to school full time and still found the time to make sure that we were all happy, healthy and that our needs were being met!

Thank you for always trying to make the best of our situation and encouraging us to have a good relationship with dad. I know that even though you guys were no longer together that you still realized the value a father has in a child's life and always encouraged us to spend time with him and you were always willing to help us do that. You were always worried about our comfort in a blended family and I am sure that it was sometime uncomfortable for you.

Looking back on our time growing up I realize how hard it must have been for you sometimes. All that responsibility on your shoulders, no one to share the burden of your worries with or to share the joy and happiness of the triumphs! My heart is so full of love! I can never truly express how much I love you or how blessed I have been to have a mother like you.

You are the true definition of a mother!

A female who creates, nurtures, protects, has compassion, patience and love. The ability to love someone else more than ones self.

Now that I am a mom I can feel what you feel. The tremendous love and joy and heartache all rolled into one. You hurt for your children, and share in their happiness. What a wonderful gift it is to be a mother! What a wonderful gift it is to have you as my mother!

I know it has been a while. I could come up with all the excuses in the world but it just boils down to time and priorities. So needless to say I am very behind. I think that I will just have to start with the most current and work my way back. I guess that means that you guys will all be reading a bunch of old news. So here goes.......

I was lucky enough to have my best friend in the world come out and visit me from Arkansas. Megan has been my best friend since we were in eight grade. That is a lot of years my friend. I was so excited to see her and of course her kids and husband Matt, but I have to say that I was super excited to meet the newest addition to the Krenz family. Gorgeous little Noah! I am in love with this little guy. He is so sweet and loves to smile. He gives the best kisses and you should hear his squeals of delight. Man I could keep this kid forever!

It was a wonderful visit and no matter how long she was here, me being the selfish person that I am would say that it was not long enough. I can't believe how grown up all her children have gotten and I am so glad that we were able to spend some time together. Thanks for letting me hog your wife Matt.

While Megan was here we were able to go to Hogle Zoo and you will never guess who was there? Santa Claus! He was there to celebrate Christmas will all the animals, our children included! Man it was hot! Even Santa had to take some time and chill out! We also went to the Tree House Museum in Ogden. The kids had a blast running around and checking everything out! Sawyer especially loved the music room. He was in seventh heaven. He is so much like his dad! We had a couple of BBQ's and the Blessing for Noah/Baptism for his cousin Ian. Other than that we just spent the rest of the time hanging out and talking.

Thanks for spending time with us Megan and Family! I hope that you guys had a great visit! We love you and will miss you a ton when you move to D.C./Virginia.

I can't believe that you are 1 today. I can't even remember what my life was like before you were here. I love you more everyday and I am so grateful that God gave you to me. I am so blessed to be your mother. You bring a light into my life that grows brighter everyday. This last year has been amazing, we have all grown so much. You are my love and my life!

Just one year ago today we had just met for the first time. Even though I carried you with me for almost 10 months I didn't truly know you until I held you in my arms. You are the best parts of both your dad and I. You are my heart! I have watched you grow and change everyday. You have gone from a little 7lb 1oz beautiful bean to my big, gorgeous, laughing, strong willed, independent, funny, smiling, and loving little boy! Today is such a bittersweet day for me. I am so happy that you are growing up and reaching all the wonderful milestones, but I am also so sad that you are changing so quickly. One minute you were my baby and the next my little boy. Time moves to quickly sometimes. Every time you call my name my heart just bursts with happiness. Every night when I hold you in my arms and rock you to sleep I kiss your beautiful head and am so grateful that you are mine! Just so you know, you will always be my baby!

Our Trip to Primary Childrens....

We have had a very busy couple of weeks. Sawyer was diagnosed with RSV back on the 1st of February. My poor baby had the worst little cough and a lot of shortness of breath along with a really bad fever. We were giving him breathing treatments every four hours around the clock to try and help. On Wednesday the 3rd we were having quite a bit of trouble keeping his fever down and he was starting to get very dehydrated. Our pediatrician recommended that we take him to the E.R. at Primary Children's. So off we went.

It was so hard to see him getting an IV placed and to have his nose and lungs suctioned. It broke my heart! They ended up having to admit him because he was only sating in the lows 80's. His poor little body was working so hard to breath that he was unable to keep his temp down. We had been fighting a temp of between 103.5 and 104.5.

We were in the hospital until Sunday the 7th. While we were there they administered IV fluids, breathing treatments and suctioning. They ended up having to give him IV Rocephine due to a very bad ear infection as well. He was so lethargic, he would just lay in my arms. It was as if every part of his little body was hurting. I think that this was the hardest part for me. Seeing my sweet, rambunctious little boy just laying there so sad and hurting.

We were sent home on oxygen and were told that he would need to follow up with his pediatrician that next day. We would also be required to take him to the suctioning clinic at least 2-3 times daily. He saw his doctor every day last week and had the suctioning done and was finally taken off the oxygen on Friday. He was very happy to no longer be attached to any machines.

He is starting to get back to his old little self, talking, cruising and laughing. I love this little boy so much! We are so grateful to the wonderful staff at Primary's. The Doctors and Nurses and all the other staff were so kind and caring. We are so lucky to live in a city that has such a wonderful resource. I know that they probably don't get the praise they deserve but I can't thank them enough.

Today we had the first of many accidents(or so I am told). My poor little bean took a header off of our bed. I feel horrible! The poor little guy was asleep with dad while I was getting ready for work. Dominic got up and Sawyer was still sleeping. So he proceeded to surround him with pillows and came out to the kitchen for a cup of coffee. The next thing you know I hear a horrible thump. Dominic runs in to the bedroom and there is my little bean on a pile of Dominic's clothes. Thankfully last night Dom didn't listen to me when I was yelling at him, telling him to put his dirty clothes in the hamper. I guess dirty clothes on the floor are good for something.

Sawyer is fine, I think he was more startled than anything. I just feel like crap because how often are you told never to leave your children unattended. Well just one more lesson I am learning as a new mom. I love this little guys soooo much!

I was telling Sawyer a story this morning. I was talking about what a fantastic drummer you were. How you would get so wrapped up in your music that you would just tune the rest of the world out. I think that he is going to take after you, he loves his drum. He loves to pound out his own little rhythm. I was also telling him how much you loved your Lego's, he love his too! I am so blessed! I have a wonderful husband, a beautiful son, and loving extended family! Both Dominic and I are employed. We have a home, cars and a mostly pain in the butt dog.

Sometimes I have to remind myself how lucky we really are! I know that this sounds so stupid and selfish.

Yesterday was a day for contemplation. I was looking at the calendar and thinking of my friend Megan. Her husband is being deployed on Saturday, and do you know what they did with their kids last night? Took them to a KISS concert. What a great thing for Matt to remember when he is in Afghanistan. What a great thing for Megan and the kids to think about as well when they are missing Matt.

I was driving home from work last night and I was having a conversation with Paula about her niece Ashlee as well as her friend Alicia who just passes away from cancer at the young age of 28 leaving behind a daughter. Needless to say, this phone call ended in tears on both our parts.

Both of these things really brought my life into perspective. I am so blessed in so many ways yet sometimes I fail to allow those blessings to be the reality of my life. Most of you who know me would say, "Come on Adrianne, with all the crap that you have been through you know how wonderful life is! You know you should make the most of it because life is short!" You would all be right, but sometimes I forget.

But for those of you who really know me, you also know that I am super big pessimist.

So here it is, I am going to make a goal to try everyday to be thankful and happy and remember how lucky I am to lead this life! This life where I am surrounded by a wonderful and loving family. This life that was blessed with a beautiful baby boy! This life in which I have a home and a job. This life where we are never hungry or cold! This life in which I have friends that feel more like sisters! This life in which everyday is a gift!

I am so pleased to announce the arrival of Mack Robert Thrall. Little Mack boat arrived on 9/8/09 at 12:37 am. He weighed in at 8 lbs 2 oz and was 20 inches long. He is one of the most beautiful little guys ever! He has a gorgeous head of long dark hair.

Mack just had his two week f/u and is now up to 9 lbs 4 oz and has grown 1 inch.

He was welcomed by his wonderful parents Fae and Brian and his very excited older brother Brock. I am so very excited for the Thrall family and I just have to say that Mack is definitely a keeper!!!

My best friend Megan's dad Bill had a heart attack on Wednesday and was rushed to the hospital. He is in the ICU and they are stabilizing him so that they can take him in for bypass surgery on Friday. I want to let Bill, Maryanne,Megan and the rest of the family know that I am thinking of you all and praying that Bill will make safe and fast recovery. Sawyer had his six month follow up in 8/21/09. Dr. Chapman was so super impressed with him. He said that he was one of the strongest six month old boys he has ever seen. I just love Dr. Chapman, he is always so excited with each and every new milestone that Sawyer achieves. Here are his stats....

Weight 20lbs - 90%

Height 27 1/2inches - 90%

Head circumference (I forgot to write down the number, "bad, bad mommy") - 90%

Sawyer started sitting on his own on Aug 12th. Saying da da da da da on Aug 23rd. Saying ma ma ma ma on Aug 26th. He has been rolling over for a few months but is unwilling to do it for me. He rolls over for everyone else, the doctor says that quite often babies won't roll over for their moms because they don't want to loose sight of them? Who knows? He is also really trying hard to get up into the crawling position. It is so stinking cute, but the poor little guy get so frustrated and usually ends up crying. He loves to pass toys from hand to hand, and empty all his little toys from the container and then replace them.

My poor little bean has had an ear infection for the last month. We just finished up our second antibiotic. Here's to hoping that he is actually over it and starts getting back to his old self!

There is now a new little boy at Sawyer's day care who is fifteen months old. Not walking yet, but certainly cruising around. When I dropped off Sawyer yesterday I sat him down facing this cute little boy. They were both just looking at each other and simultaneously they both reached out to steal each others binkies. It was hilarious! I think that Sawyer will for sure start crawling soon based on how intently he is observing his little friend.

I swear this little boy grows right before my eyes. One minute he was a newborn, then a baby, and now he almost seems like a little boy. He is at the point where he wants to do everything for himself, doesn't want to snuggle and isn't content to just nurse anymore. He is way more interested in what is going on around him.

This is such a bittersweet time for me, I love to watch his sweet little face in sleep. He has the most beautiful little lips, every time he falls asleep I just have to kiss those lips and run my lips across his little forehead to feel the soft little baby hair. I love when I am nursing him and he smiles when I tell him I love him or pats my back with his little hand as I pat his bottom. I love the way his eyes light up and he breaks into a grin when he sees me. I love his little belly chuckles when I tickle his back. God, I am so blessed to have this little boy in my life! God gave me the best gift ever when he sent Sawyer to me! I love my boy more than words can explain!

Sawyer went in for his four month check up last Friday. The doctor was super impressed with him. He was really happy with how well he is growing and developing. The poor little guy had to get four shots and he just cried and cried, and of course so did I. The doctor said that we could go ahead and start him on cereal so that's exactly what we did. It seems to be kind of hit and miss. Some days he totally goes to town on it, and other days he wants nothing to do with it. He gives me this look like he is so disgusted that I would even try to put anything but a boob in his mouth. So like a man. Anyway, here are his stats....

Weight 16 lbs and 14 oz. ( 86%)

Height 27 and 3/4 inches tall (96%), he may just end up being taller than both mom and dad. Woo Hoo!

Brandon I love you so much! I hope that your Birthday weekend was a happy and enjoyable one! Turning thirty-one is normally not such a big deal, but this year is special because you became a father. Because we both became parents this year, we are charting new territory. Sawyer has turned into a little fish! We knew that he loved taking showers with dad and mom, but boy does he love the tub!!! He kicks and splashes around like a fish. I have to admit that the very best part of Mother's Day was finally being a mom! Sawyer is the best gift I have ever received! I need to make sure and thank my wonderful husband for being just that ... A WONDERFUL HUSBAND! Dominic is always so kind, loving and helpful! He helps me to be the mother that I am. I couldn't ask for a better husband! I am so blessed to have such a wonderful family, I don't know what my life would be without them.

I also wanted to thank all the wonderful mothers in my life. Thank you for all that you do! Mothers ROCK!!! I am not just referring to my mom or grandmother, I am giving a shout out to all the great mothers in my life, friends as well as family. I am learning to be a great mother from all of your examples! We had a wonderful Easter! We were able to spend time with most of our family members and it was really nice to see everyone. We started the day by doing breakfast at my mom's. Then going for lunch at my dad's. We then had dinner with Dominic's family. Everyone really spoiled Sawyer. Who knew that a 7 week old could score so much loot! Thank you everyone for all the great gifts from the Easter Bunny!

On another note Sawyer had his two month check up and the doctor is really happy with his progress. He is really plumping up and he has found his hands, can smile a gorgeous smile, he is cooing and trying to talk, and started rolling over last Wednesday. Boy are we in trouble! God, I love this boy so much!

He also had his shots at this visit, and I have to say that I cried as hard if not harder than he did. Poor baby!! He had a really ruff night and ran a little bit of a temp. that evening and the next day. He seems to be in better spirits today and we are hoping to spend some time outside.

I am so proud to show off my beautiful new niece! Miss Sophie Lee was born on 4/6/09 at 5:50 am. She weighed in at 8lbs. 11 oz. and was 20.5 inches long. She came into this world with a head full of downy blond hair. She is so incredibly beautiful! I just want to snuggle and kiss her to death!

I want to tell Brandon and Ashley how much I love them and how proud of them I am. I especially want to tell Ashley what a wonderful job she did! I have been blessed in my life with many wonderful things. One of which is my best friend Megan. I didn't know when I met her that she would be with me for the rest of my life through both the thick and the thin, good and the bad, rich and the poor. God must have been looking out for me, knowing that I would need someone like her in my life.

Megan's first reaction when I told her I was pregnant was to scream and cry almost simultaneously. Her second reaction was to start planning a trip to come out and meet my baby. Can I say how blessed I am! I know that being a mother of four with a husband in the military means that she has a busy life, and I appreciate that her family was willing to part with her for five days.

We had the best time while she was here! I always enjoy any time that I get to spend with her! I don't get to see her often but I am always amazed that we can go months or even years without seeing each other but when we talk on the phone or see each other it seems like only yesterday! She is truly the sister of my heart!

Matt and kids - Thanks for sharing your wonderful wife and mom, it means the world to me!

Megan - I can't thank you enough for coming out and taking time away from your family and work to spend time with us! Sawyer, Dominic and I were so sad to see you go! I love you and I am so grateful to have you in my life!

So I thought I would share a few pictures of our beautiful boy before he arrives. We have just seventeen short days (give or take) before he arrives. For those of you who don't know I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes before Christmas so they have been watching my sugars really close and keeping an extra eye on how big this boy is going to get. As of this morning he is weighing in around 7lbs. Thank the Lord!!! This definitely takes a load off my mind knowing that I won't be giving birth to a ten or twelve pound baby!!! We are really excited to meet him and can't wait to see him in person!

On a different note, I will be posting pictures of baby shower #2 shortly. I am waiting for my mom to email the pictures. So there will be another post to come either today or tomorrow.

I am so blessed! I just wanted to start off by saying that. I have such a great group of beautiful friends and I am so lucky to know each and every one of them. They are all so generous and kind! Baby and I were so very spoiled!

I really have to say a big THANK YOU to the hostess Paula!

Paula, Thank you for making my baby shower so special and fun! You are such a great friend, and when I say you are the hostess with the mostess I really mean it. You are so creative and you always seem to get it just right! Thank you for all your hard work and time in putting together such a wonderful day.

Let me also say thank you to all the other wonderful women who took time out of their busy lives to come and be part of the day. Fae, Kirsten, Jolie, Gina, Ashley, and my mom (Barbara), it was so great to be able to spend the afternoon with you guys and thank you for all the great gifts.

I had a great time and I hope that you all did too! Here are a few pictures of the wonderful day!

I also wanted to tell Megan, Susie and Camille how much they were missed! I love you guys and can't wait for you to meet my little one!

2 Years

I still have a hard time believing that two years have come and gone. Two years since I have heard your laugh. Two years since I have seen your smile. Two long years since I have been able to put my arms around you and tell you that I love you.

Would you be any taller? Would you still have such a skinny little butt, or would you have bulked up? Would you have grown a beard anytime in these last two years? I wonder if you would be going to college or just hanging out, working some job, enjoying being out of school?

So many things cross my mind when I think about you. I remember you as a little boy. So tan and cute, wearing mom's high heels and a diaper. I think of how you were my first baby and how you loved you strawberry baba's! I remember how you would always bring your blanket and bunny with you wherever you went. I remember your fixation with Pokemon and drawing. I think of your love of skiing and being out on the slopes. I think of how handsome you were, and how you were really starting to come into your own. I wonder if you would be in some great band rocking out on the weekends. I can imagine the family coming to see you play somewhere and laughing and cheering you on!

Oh, how I miss you! My heart aches with missing you! I wish that we could all go back in time. Back to a time when our family was all here together! There are so many things that you are missing out on. So many things that I wish you were here to share in. I know in my heart that you are always with us! I know that you know how much we love you! I know that you know how much we miss you! I know that you and Dustin are hanging out together, shredding the slopes and having a good time! I just wish you were both doing it down here with us!

I love and miss you soooo much!

If I haven't already said this I hate cell phone photos! I especially hate my cell phone photos! Maybe I need a new phone? No, what I really need is to just take some decent pictures with my regular camera and post from home. But as you can all probably tell I do all my posting from work. Anyway, here is a little update.

We are now entering week 34. Yahoo! Almost done! The nursery is coming along great, and we have plenty of clothes for this kid to wear. As long as we have those, diapers and my boobs we should be good to go!

I am really starting to look forward to maternity leave! Yahooooooo! I can't wait to meet this new little one. For all of you that are wondering, we still don't have a name picked out yet. Suggestions are always welcome. Hopefully we will figure it out before we come home from the hospital!

As you can probably see from the crappy photos, yes, I did get a really bad haircut. I don't care though, I just needed to get rid of some of it. I also finally got around to dying my hair again after 7 months. It may not look any better but it sure makes me feel better.

Hopefully I will get some pictures of the nursery up on the blog next week. Until then, Happy stalking to all!

Merry Christmas

Since Christmas is here in a matter of hours and our cards are yet to be mailed we just wanted to wish all our friends and family a truly Merry Christmas and a wonderful new year! We love you all and hope that you know that we are so grateful for all your love and friendships!

You are all in our thoughts and prayers as this new year begins. We hope that this last year and the year to come brings you all the blessings and happiness that they have brought to us! We are all so lucky to have the love of true friends and family! For those of you who we won't be able to see over the holiday's due to distance, we are thinking of and missing you!

So once again almost a month has passed and I have failed to keep everyone updated. Shame on me!!! I really have great intentions, but some how I get busy, lazy, or forgetful. We have been having a fairly good month. We have been trying to get our house organized for the baby and somehow nothing seems to be working. We started out with great intentions...

1 - We moved all the furniture out of our room and the baby's room.

2 - Tried to clean the carpets (by try I mean our carpet cleaner didn't work after Dom spent two hours working on our bedroom just to end up with wet carpet).

3- Borrowing my mom's carpet cleaner the next day and things looking NO better!

4- Trying to sort through and get rid of things. We have way to much CRAP!!!

5- Going through closets and getting rid of clothes as well as boxing up summer clothes.

Now here is where we stand....

1 - Sleeping in our guest room for the last month, which also has all the baby furniture stuck in the corner.

2- Our living room is currently housing our bed.

3- We have more of our clothes in laundry baskets in the basement than we have in closets or dressers.

4- Carpet still not cleaned to my satisfaction due to the fact that Dom has worked every weekend since we started this project and I can't rent a good carpet cleaner that I can lift myself.

5- My life is utter chaos and now Dom wants to start our bathroom remodel.

Do you see me pulling my hair out and screaming?

I do have to give my sweet husband credit, for the last couple of weeks he has gotten up and made me breakfast. I don't just mean cereal or yogurt. I'm talking french toast, omelets, and egg mcmuffins. He is like a thirty-five year old, expectant father, with a little Martha Stewart thrown in(I do have a picture to add here, be patient). He is always so sweet to make sure that I have my glass of chocolate milk in the mornings (only way I can gag it down) so that I don't starve the baby. By the way did you know I have his baby in here? Really?

We had our last appointment on the 23rd and things seem to be going well. I am getting rounder by the day (picture here as well, patience). The baby is moving around a bunch and the heart rate is right where it should be. We have our f/u ultrasound scheduled for next Friday and we are really excited. I will be doing my glucose testing next Friday as well, so keep your fingers crossed that all goes well!

5 Wonderful Years!!!

On Saturday we celebrated our 5 year Anniversary! Woo hoo! I am more in love with him now than I could ever dream of being then! I am truly blessed to have such a wonderful husband.

I know that over those nine years we have had our ups and downs, and life hasn't always been easy, but it has soooo been worth it!

I love you with all my heart! Your are my partner, friend, and true love! As we start this new and important adventure together, we must remember to always count on each other, that life is challenging but oh so rewarding and that our love and family is more important than anything else! 10 Years

I can't believe that it has been ten years that Dustin has been gone. I miss him so much! I think now more than ever I am really saddened by the fact that there are so many things that he is missing, so many people that he will never know. I look at all the things that have happened in the last ten years, the joys and the pain, and wish that he was still here! He never got the chance to meet my husband, or Brandon's wife. He will never get to play with our babies. He will never experience the joys of being a husband, father or uncle. I regret that he won't know the joy of watching little D grow up, go through his crazy teenage years and turn into a man. I regret that he never got to watch Josh drum his heart out. I regret that he will never know that bond with his brothers that changes as they age. I wish that he were here so that he could go on surfing trips to Costa Rica with Brandon and lil D, I wish that he and lil D could spend time together teaching Dominic to snowboard. I wish he were here! I miss him so very much and my heart aches with sadness!

I know that I will see my brothers again. I know that Dustin and Josh are hanging out together (probably getting in trouble) and missing us too. I love them both so much!

It's a BOY!!!

We are so excited! We can now start to pick out names and decide on all the other fun things like colors for the nursery.

Our ultrasound was last night and let me tell you I am a total cry baby! It was so amazing to me to be able to see all the wonderful little movements and to realize that this is all happening inside my body! The ultrasound tech was great! She spent almost an hour with us explaining all the different things she was measuring and what each little part was. Who knew that you could see the little bladder, kidneys, adrenal glands, and the diaphragm. Of course we got to see his wonderful little heart beating. This really brought tears to my eyes! She asked us just prior to revealing the sex of the baby what we were hoping for. We were holding hands and at the same time we both said healthy! After waiting five long years for this it was a moment full of anticipation! Of course when she told us it was a boy we were both overjoyed! I just kept thinking to myself how wonderful this feeling was, we were having a baby boy! I just kept squeezing Dominic's hand and in that moment I have never felt more love for him or such a connection to him! Tears were just running down my face and I couldn't stop laughing!

Our little boy it about seven inches long from head to butt. She said that he probably weighs about nine to eleven ounces. Not quite a can of pop. She also said that his heart rate was right on target at 156. The tech also said that my due date is right about 2/20/09. So a little bit of a change there. She said that everything looks wonderful and he seems really healthy. The only thing that she was unable to measure was his nose and mouth which they need to check for cleft lip and palate. By this point in the ultrasound he was tired and was hiding his face in my placenta. We tried to jiggle him free or wake him up but after about ten to fifteen minutes we decided that we would give it a pass. She said not to worry, but she will have us schedule a follow up ultrasound for about 4-6 weeks. This will be really interesting to see how much he has changed. We also follow up with the doctor on 9/25 so I will post an update then.

O.k., alright! I know that I am a slacker!!! I haven't been keeping the blog up to date. The thing is ... I think of all these cute things to post about and then what happens, I forget! Holy crap I swear that I am getting stupider or is it more stupid by the minute. Besides the fact that I have realized that I can no longer type. I am not kidding!!! It has taken me ten minutes to type this much and that is with multiple corrections!

So here is the latest news in our family. I had a doctors appointment on 8/25/08 and the doc said that everything looked, sounded, and felt great! Dominic was with me and was able to hear the heart beat which was really exciting for him. I couldn't help myself but when I heard that little whooshing heart beat I just started to giggle. This baby is starting to feel like more of a reality everyday! We are scheduled for our ultrasound on 9/22/08 and then another doctors appointment on 9/25/08. We can't wait to find out if our little baby is a boy or girl! Now if we can just get our butts in gear and start our remodeling so that our house will be somewhat ready for the baby!

I also have some very exciting news coming from my brother Brandon and sister-in-law Ashley.
They are also going to be having a baby!!!! Both of our pregnancies came as quite the surprise!They are due just a few weeks later than we are! We are all so excited!!!! Our babies will be the same age and can be little buddies! I am so very lucky to have such a fun sister-in-law to share in this wonderful experience. I am a little jealous of her though, she hasn't had any morning sickness! Where as I am just now starting to feel a little better. We have both been super tired and with all of Ashley's dancing I imagine she is a little more tired than I am!!

This has been a really busy summer for our whole family. My mom and little brother Dom decided to move out of Rexburg (the devils armpit!). Thank the Lord!!! My mom also had back surgery and had to have her L5-S1 fused. We spent a lot of time in Idaho helping her get things packed, recouping her from surgery, and loading up a moving van. Brandon and lil D (as we like to call my brother, or baby duck as I sometimes call him) were able to spend 2 1/2 weeks in Costa Rica surfing as well. What a bunch of brats!!! We were all very jealous! Finally my mom was able to buy a house and we got her moved just in the nick of time. She just started working at a new school here in SLC and we are all really excited to have her here!

Sorry, I know that I have been all over the place with this post, but there are so many things to mention now that my brain seems to be up and running!

One thing that I really want to mention is how grateful I am to have my whole family close together now! It has been really great just being able to stop by and say hi or do fun things together without all the rushing around when you know someone is just there for the weekend. I love my family so much! They mean the world to me and I don't know what I would do without them!

A special Thanks to my mom for being a great mom, for loving us all so much, and putting up with all our crap over the years! Also a little thanks in advance for all the help you are going to be with the newest family members! Love ya - A

Sooooooo......

As Paula pointed out to me Sunday night I am starting to show. I just feel pudgy and fat! It's not as if I am slim. I was ONCE! In like the 7th,8th, and starting of 9th grade. But since then I have had more than enough to hold on to! It seems that every year I make these promises to myself that I will get in better shape, move more, eat better, yadda, yadda, yadda!

So it seems really kind of weird with all my extra baggage that I would all of a sudden feel self conscious when someone points out that I am starting to show. This is a good thing! A great thing! This baby is something that Dominic and I have worked and prayed really hard for. The last five years have been a lot of stress and me not always being the nicest(I know that this is a shocker for you all!) person to be around.

So, what is my freaking problem? You would think that I could get over myself or realize that showing is actually a good sign! But no, what am I worried about? All those people who pass me in a store, or while I am driving or people that don't know I am pregnant and they look over and see this gushy blob of a stomach that I have and think, "Gee, that chic is fat!"

O.k. I just needed to vent, everyone please forgive me for my extreme shallowness and just tell me to shut the hell up. I know I am crazy as well!!! No comments on my complete retardedness from the peanut gallery!

I LOVE CANTALOUPE!!!!

I know that this is kind of weird, But I just had to let everyone know. I have just now finished my second cantaloupe in two days. As my friend Fae tells me... "Your going to have the diarrhea!" Sorry I know that was gross!

I may very well be sick as a dog tonight or tomorrow but for the last two days nothing has ever tasted better! There are just some foods that so hit the spot. I swear that these have been the best cantaloupe that I have ever eaten in my life! O.k. I will stop now, I know nobody really cares that this is my new favorite food but I would like you all to go out and get a cantaloupe, chill it, and enjoy!

I love Idaho(I know Paula, I'm sure you can't believe it!) when you are trying to sleep, relax, unwind from a stressful day! As I lay in bed over the weekend in Idaho, I remembered how much I love the smell of the water, coming through an opened window, as the sound of the sprinklers hypnotize me, with a cool breeze sliding over my skin. This is one of the many things that I love!

So I have gotten a little blog spankin from my best pal Megan. Yes, I know that I have not been a good blogger! The sad thing is that I have come to realize my life has nothing going on worth blogging about. O.k., I could talk about how dang hot it has been in the last week or how I really hate repair shops and how they assume all women are bumbling idiots or how no matter how many times you ask your husband to hang up his wet towel it still ends up on your nice clean comforter, wait here's another one. Why can I make a sandwich and my kitchen still be clean but the love of my life spreads condiments all over the counter and leaves crumbs everywhere? .... but wouldn't that just be considered bitching? So, the question that I pose to all you worldly bloggers is ...

What is the true definition of blogging? Is there more than one answer? Who decides? Is bitching really just venting or the broadcasting of information? Help me out kids!

P.S. I know I pick on Dom alot, but you all know that I love him to death, so take it with a grain or two of salt and some limes as well as tequila and a little triple sec!

O.k., I am really going to give this a try! I am new to this so no comments from the peanut gallery! I decided today that enough is enough. I need to get it together. Every morning part of my routine is to get on-line and look at every one's blogs. I am always so impressed by what everyone has to say and how nice all your blogs look with new pictures and entries all the time. You are all such a clever bunch of people that I spend half my time laughing and the other half crying. So, anyone who has any pointers on how to make this blog great drop me a note!
